    For anyone else with this i problem i got it working.

    i changed this line
    $("input[type=text]").autoSuggest("test.php", {minChars: 1, matchCase: false}); to this
    $("input[type=text]").autoSuggest("test.php", {selectedItemProp: "name", selectedValuesProp: "value", searchObjProps: "name", minChars: 1, matchCase: false});

    and it worked....

    hate being a newbie!

    Thank god, I've been at this for sodding hours!

    I really would love to have had an actual working demo to look at rather than code snippets to try and fathom

    Thanks for saving my sanity

    hi there , thanks for posting this, helped me a lot. I have a question (offcourse) . But the example above assumes only one input box is present at the page. I have multiple in which this one field is just one of many id like to save to my database.
    Can I also address a specific input field?

    Hope to read from you?
