AutoSuggest jQuery Plugin →

I've seen some comments on the support for IE and the responses
(not standard, not compliant, etc.), but is this really why it
doesn't work? The autocompleter, as-is, doesn't for for IE8 which
is compliant and as much of a "modern" browser as can be.
I know the post at http://code.drewwilson.com/entry/autosuggest-jquery-plugin
says it's running well for IE7 and IE8, but since that page doesn't
open in IE8 for me, I can't test it there.
The error is the same as reported in this ticket. First line
refers to the demo page itself, second line (with screenshot) to
how it looks in IE8.
The same boxes work properly in Firefox, and the fixes linked in
the forums are not related to this, as far as I can tell.
