IE6 compatibility

I love the autosuggest plugin, but would dearly like it to work for us in IE6.
At the moment it kind of works, in that you type in partial matches and they appear and can be selected, but the various bits are in the wrong place (as-selection and as-original should appear inside as-selections but are not).
Best seen in the attachments (the application allows a user to choose the area code for a phone number by partial match on code or area name)
Has anyone any tips about how to solve this? (or just sympathy that I have to!)
